Physical Education

We aim to encourage all children to be positive and actively involved in their PE lessons.  PE is covered within the curriculum and through extra-curricular activities.  Our PE and school sports allow us to strive to be team players and honest and respectful all of which encourages us to promote our school values.

We use Get Set 4 PE to aid the exploration and progression of our skills in a variety of sports which in turn enables us to teach a high quality of PE.

Throughout Key Stage 1, pupils develop fundamental movement skills and become increasingly competent and confident through a range of opportunities that extend their agility, balance and coordination.

Progressing into Key Stage 2, pupils continue to apply and develop a broader range of skills to develop an understanding of how to improve in different physical activities.  They also learn how to evaluate and recognise their own successes.

Our children have opportunities to showcase their skills through competition within and outside of school.  We consistently promote being active and healthy on a daily basis.

Attached below is the Knowledge and Skills Progression document for PE.  This details the areas children will cover in various year groups.
